Custom made, the 'Tiller" platform bed

The "Tiller" bed

The "Tiller" bed celebrates nature by capturing the beauty of the wood itself. The matching vertical grain end pieces of the headboard highlight life and upward growth, while the horizontal center section, rejuvenation and rest. There is no deck, but the mattress is cantilevered with no visible support or legs to stub your toe on. The attached tables also are cantilevered, adding to the floating look. Colored lights under the overhang add spice.

>Hi Gus,
>
>I just wanted to let you know how very pleased Judy and I are with our
>new bed. After sleeping on a mattress on the floor for the last 25 years,
>we wanted a low bed so that we wouldn't be as high as many of today's
>beds are. After a lot of searching over many months, we found your web
>site and really liked what we saw there. During the weeks you and I were
>corresponding about the design of the bed, you were both very helpful
>with your suggestions and very flexible in accommodating our specific
>needs. In the end, our bed turned out great, and it fulfilled our
>"vision" of what we wanted extremely well. We are delighted with the
>craftsmanship and your unique way of designing and building a custom
>piece of furniture for a very reasonable price. The wood grain of the
>cherry pieces you selected is beautiful and nicely arranged. We also like
>the quality "fit and finish," with the smooth rounded solid wood edges at
>all the corners, the hidden "handles" for the side table drawers, and the
>way that all the separate pieces fit together so perfectly to make it
>ridgid and sturdy.
>
>We also very much appreciate your delivering the bed and setting it up
>for us. Although I'm sure I could have done it myself, it would have
>taken me much longer to complete.
>
>Attached are a couple of photos, one of which shows a little glow from
>the light kit, a surprisingly useful feature at night.
>
>Thanks again, Gus!
>
>Best regards,
>George and Judy Tiller

"Malto" Platform Bed

The "Malto" platform bed is higher.
The deck is 11" and the mattress rises up as high as you want it. This one has a slanted headboard and two wing tables without drawers, in Birch hardwood. Now I am making the headboard extend to the width of the tables for better appearance and strength. There is no support under the tables.
King and Queen size, $2300.
